Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a good photo of my pet?
Pictures with good lighting, contrast, and the highest resolution possible make the best portraits! Send a few of your favorites and I am happy to help you select the one that will work best. I typically like to have one photo that is closer to the pet’s face, but multiple photos help me to capture the most accurate likeness.
How long will my custom portrait take?
My hand-drawn portraits take time to craft. Please allow around two weeks for custom portrait painting requests and a week for custom stickers. Occasionally I can accommodate a rush order with an additional charge. Please reach out for holiday orders by November 20th. I will always let you know what to expect in terms of timing before we get started and keep you updated along the way.
Can you paint a portrait that includes more than one pet?
Yes, absolutely! Even if you do not have a good photo of them together, I am able to create a combined portrait when you provide separate photos. **
Would you paint me with my pet? / Do you paint other animals or people?
Of course! My skillset applies to all manner of portraits, whether you have yourself, or feathered, scaled, or furry friends in mind. **
Where do I start if I have a specific idea in mind?
If you are looking for something you don’t see on my site, or are not sure where to start, please email me to discuss options
Will you sell my pet’s portrait to other people?
No, my portraits are made expressly for you. I do reserve the right to show examples of my work on my website, social media, and at in-person events, to help others see portrait options. If any derivative works are created, they will be done so with your approval.
** Prices may be higher depending on final portrait size and subject. Some portraits are more complex than others and require more time to draw (ex. people or multiple pets).
